Boomerang organiseert deze wedstrijd samen met KLIK Amsterdam Animation Festival; het leukste animatiefestival van Europa. Vandaar dat we het internationaal aanpakken met een Engelse briefing:

If you can think of an original, powerful and creative message and you're able to wrap it in a gorgeous 'super short', you might just win the Boomerang Sendable Short Award 2010!
Why you should
Boomerang and KLIK will select six finalists. If you are one of them, your work will feature in a special Boomerang showing at the KLIK Amsterdam Animation Festival 2010. Of course you and a friend will have front row seats. If you manage to beat the other five, you will be invited to the stage to receive not only a round of applause, but also The Boomerang Sendable Short Award 2010, that comes with a 400 euro cheque!
More reasons
As a finalist you will not only see your animation on the big screen, during this prestigious, international animation festival, to which you have free access all four days. You will also be able to rub shoulders with 'the big ones' of the animation industry, during a special 'animator's boat trip' through the Amsterdam canals. Also your animated e-card, with of course your name, will be prominently on display at both the KLIK website and Boomerang.nl. In other words: A huge amount of people will see and send your amazing animated e-card.
A few pointers
Bare in mind that your animation has to be:
- a great e-card (Imagine what you would love to send or receive by email yourself!)
- short (say max. 30 seconds)
- original and rebellious
- tasty, handy and amusing
- creative and surprising
- simple and powerful
- humorous
- Dutch or English

SPECIFICATIONS
Upload an apealing still, to promote your sendable animation. This can be a JPG, GIF or PNG. Than a video in AVI, DV, MOV/QT, MPEG, MP4, 3GP, ASF/WMV or FLV., Max 100 MB, screen 4:3, rendered for the internet. Or a full animation SWF, automatically starting. Longest side: 400pixels, Max 25 MB.

Commentaar van de jury
Geweldig dat er uiteindelijk 52 pogingen werden gedaan de Boomerang Sendable Short Award 2010 in de wacht te slepen! Gelukkig was ook het niveau van de ingezonden werken om over naar huis te schrijven en voldeden de meeste inzendingen aan onze criteria: kort, beeldend, des Boomerangs en verstuurbaar.
De jury kon het dan ook maar moeilijk eens worden over de beste zes. Na een vurig debat kwamen we uiteindelijk tot deze finalisten:
1. Millie The Mandril; een originele manier om iemand uit te nodigen voor een etentje. Misschien niet super communicatief (Sommige juryleden snapte hem pas nadat ze hem de tweede keer bekeken hadden..), maar wel prachtig vormgegeven in een lekker retro stijltje, waar we wel van gecharmeerd zijn.
2. Let's Go Out; Kort, beeldend, simpel, duidelijk en mooi gemaakt. Een makkelijke keuze dus.
3. Happy Chicken Factory; Mooi opgebouwd, beeldend, verstuurbaar en verassend. En vanwege het freaky einde ook echt iets voor Boomerang.
4. Let's get together; Mattt zat vorig jaar ook al in de finale. En niet voor niets! Hij snapt hoe je een verstuurbare boodschap animeert. En hij bewandelt daarbij niet de geijkte weg. Terechte terugkomer dus!
5. Prettige Vakantie; Nicolien koos een origineel verstuurthema en vulde dat ook nog eens op een niet voor de hand liggende manier in. Vandaar dat ook zij zich tot de zes verkozenen mag rekenen.
6. Hoera!; Deze animatie deed het vooral bij de animatoren in de jury goed, vanwege de prachtige stijl en uitdrukking. En daarmee is eigenlijk ook de laatste finaleplek vergeven. Ware het niet dat de jury - na het uitkiezen van deze zes - een aantal slapeloze nachten heeft gehad over twee werken die het net niet waren geworden. Vandaar dat ze besloot deze alsnog mee te laten dingen! Twee extra finalisten dus bij deze opdracht:
7. Robot Dancing for you; Lekker lullig, met een uberslecht muziekje. Goed fout dus! En helemaal in de stijl van KLIK!
8. Kud Cadeau; Flauw, maar wauw.
Onze aan hondsdolheid grenzende dank gaat uit naar iedereen die bloed, zweet en tranen heeft gestoken in een bijdrage. De beste en meest verstuurbare filmpjes zullen de komende tijd op onze home page schitteren. (Iedere twee weken een verse lading, dus hou het in de gaten!) Ook als je niet gewonnen hebt, kun je dus rekenen op veel bekijks.
De winnende filmpjes zullen te zien zijn in een speciale Boomerang showing tijdens KLIK! 2010, waar de winnaars als eregast aanwezig zullen zijn. Daarbij worden ze met naam en toename in het programmaboekje vermeld, zal hun animatie te versturen zijn via de drukbezochte website van KLIK! en zullen zij uitgenodigd worden voor een boottochtje door Amsterdam met de grootste animatiehelden op aarde!
De ultieme winnaar van de Boomerang Sendable Short Award zal op de laatste avond van KLIK! bekend worden gemaakt. Hij of zij zal niet alleen een daverend applaus in ontvangst nemen, maar ook een cheque van 400 euro! Maar eerst mogen alle zes de finalisten nog even genieten van hun zuurverdiende plek in de finale. Gefeliciteerd!
